Welcome to Walnut Ridge Horses

Walnut Ridge Farm in Urbana is home to Maryland's first registered Drum horse, Genivee. The Drum horse is a tall, athletic , heavy riding horse. Genivee's sire is Chew Mill Guinness, son of the wonderful Galway Warrior.

The purpose of the Drum horse is to develop the quintessential heavy riding horse whose bloodlines are from the Gypsy Cob, Shire, Clydesdale and Fresian. The ideal Drum horse has a calm disposition, profuse feathering and pinto markings reminiscent of ancient Drum Horses used by HRM the Queen of England's calvary. They are bred to be athletic and to excel in a variety of ridden and driven disciplines. Genivee is all of this and more. She is currently showing training level dressage, drives, and is a wonderful trail horse. See more of Genivee on her page.

Walnut Ridge is home to Apache's Mountain Storm "Stormy" a registered American Warmblood mare and reciently entered into the ISR Oldenburg Pre-Mare book. Stormy shows training level dressage and is a steady trail horse. Stormy is for sale. See more on Stormy on the Warmblood page.
